Edit one page, not the whole book
Ask “make the dialogue on page 9 livelier” and only page 9 changes. Every change is a version you can undo or compare.
Write and fix your story page by page with your own Claude or ChatGPT. Book In Your Hand keeps every word inside its cloud, at one size on every page, and hands you a print-ready book for Amazon.

One text size on every page. Text stays inside its cloud and away from the edges. When it doesn't fit, the page splits — never smaller letters.
Use the cloud painted in your picture, or let the app draw a soft one in the picture's colours — always away from the characters and the words on a sign.
Works through the Claude and ChatGPT apps you already pay for. No API keys, nothing billed per use.
Every picture prompt carries your characters' looks and asks for calm space where the text will go. ChatGPT can draw or retouch the picture for you.
English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Polish, Ukrainian and more: translated for children, then fitted page by page at one size per edition.
Interior PDF with bleed and safe margins, 300 ppi pictures, embedded fonts, and the full cover with the spine sized to your page count.
Already made a book elsewhere? Import its PDF: pictures, text and paragraphs come in as a project you can keep working on.
“The bunny talks too long here.” The assistant rewrites that line, the layout engine checks every page, and the change is one version you can undo with a click.
Spreads show page 1 alone on the right and then every left and right pair, exactly as the printed book opens. Pages show one card per page. Two-page pictures are your call, never a guess.
Each edition gets its own text, its own fitted size and, when a picture has words in it, its own picture. The clouds grow or shrink with the text.
Export the interior and the cover for Amazon's print-on-demand, a PDF for your home printer or a local print shop, or images of every page.
Books are folders on your Mac. Book In Your Hand has no account, no cloud and no tracking. Text and pictures go to an AI only when you ask it something, through your own Claude or ChatGPT app. The internet is used to check for updates.
Yes, it is free to download while it is in beta, and updates install by themselves.
Not for laying out, checking and exporting your book. The assistant, translations and pictures use your own Claude subscription (through Claude Code) or ChatGPT subscription (through the ChatGPT app). No API keys are used and nothing is billed per use.
Yes. Export the interior PDF with bleed and the full-wrap cover, then upload both as a paperback on Amazon's print-on-demand. Square 8.5 × 8.5 inch is the default; 8.25 × 8.25, 8 × 10, 8.5 × 11, A4 and a landscape size are there too.
Any language the font can draw. Amazon prints English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Ukrainian and many more; for a language Amazon does not print, use the home-print PDF or a local print shop.
Books for children read best when the letters never jump in size. When a page holds more text than its cloud, the app makes room or splits the page instead of shrinking the letters.
Yes. Import a PDF of the finished book: the pictures, the text, the paragraphs and two-page pictures come in, and the check shows what to fix.
